We’ve been seeing a lot of beadboard bedrooms in our blog reader lately, which makes us wonder if the summery weather has everyone feeling all country chic in their design choices. It certainly has us in the mood to redesign our bedroom with light grey walls and fun, eclectic patterned bedding. There are lots of ways to do beadboard; we loved this example in Country Living’s House of the Year, designed by Emily Henderson, where the beadboard only went halfway up the wall. In the image above, the beadboard has been taken all the way up to the ceiling, emphasizing the light and airy country feeling that it appears the designer was going for. With the beamed ceilings, the natural shades, the beaded chandelier, and the fun, colorful bedding, this is a room that’s comfortable and cozy but also about as light and bright as it gets. The space is at once calming and and energetic – the perfect blend! We’d happily move right in.
