How much do we love this room, designed by Tom Scherer and featured in House Beautiful? Let us count the ways: first, there’s the gorgeous purple and white beds, with curtains to section off the separate spaces. We’re imaging this is a little girls’ room – a room for sisters who share just about everything, secrets included. We’re guessing this space is part of New York apartment, and, as we know all too well, space is always at a premium when it comes to Manhattan. This doesn’t appear to be a particularly large room, which is part of what we love about it: it still feels finished, and “designed” – even in a small space. Scherer has managed to fit a workspace and two sleeping areas, tying them together with a serene and feminine color scheme that feels girly but still fresh. That antique bentwood desk chair has our heart going pitter patter, and so does that antique Parson’s style desk with file cabinets below. White, fluffy bedding highlights the natural light in the room and makes the space feel bigger, while patterned purple pillows infuse a slightly bohemian feel to the space. We don’t know about you, but we’d happily have called this room our own as little girls.
