Namaste, Kuotes cuties! Let’s face it, we could all use a space to completely zen out. Don’t get me wrong, your home should always feel like a serene oasis where you’re comfortable enough to lay back and relax.
“But what about setting aside a special space in your home completely devoted to banishing your stress? It can truly be a game changer!”
So today, here at The Kuotes, I’m excited to give you my top design tips to guide you as you create an oh-so-chill space straight out of your most peaceful dreams!
Getting Started on Your Modern Meditation Corner
First things first–I know what you’re thinking, and the answer is: No! You don’t need an entire room for your own meditation sanctuary! An empty corner, a space in your living room or a patch of grass in your backyard will work perfectly.
All you need to do is set aside a special spot that is completely devoted to stillness. Let this space provide you with the opportunity to recharge physically and mentally.
“Once you’ve found the perfect spot, continue your meditation corner journey by asking yourself which design elements are going to bring that feeling of lightness and peace. This can be candles, cozy textures, and decorative pieces that have special meaning.”

Embrace Natural Lighting
When you’re meditating, it can feel amazing to have some fresh air and warm sunlight on your skin. There’s truly nothing more relaxing than soaking up some sun!
“As you’re designing your meditation corner, see if there’s some space available next to a window. This will help bring the energy of the outdoors inside!”
And to keep the area light and bright, even throughout the evening, add a pair of candles or set the mood with a few lanterns. Then, sit back, relax, and breathe in the glowing sense of calm you just created.

Get Comfortable!
Despite your obvious crystals and singing bowls, (I am obsessed with my Simon Pearce singing bowl) there’s one essential that no meditation corner should be without–a floor pillow or floor covering.
“No matter how much time you plan to spend centering yourself, feeling comfortable throughout your meditation will help make the experience much more enjoyable.”
Make yourself comfortable and play with different, cozy textures by layering your meditation space with pillows, a soft rug and a warm blanket.
