Hi cuties! I have great news: While the countdown to Memorial Day itself may still be ongoing for another week, the wait for the Kathy Kuo Home Memorial Day Sale is officially over! That’s right, our Memorial Day Sale is currently live and now’s your chance to save up to 35% sitewide, and up to 75% on our warehouse sale items. You can read all about it below!
“Now is also one of my favorite times of the month because it’s my time to get personal with you all about all the things making my world go ’round right now—both at work and outside it.”
Happy reading, sale shopping, and (hopefully) sunny days ahead for the upcoming long Memorial Day weekend!

Kathy’s May Favorite: #2: LuAnn Nigara’s “A Well Designed Business” Podcast
I love a good podcast—especially one that’s hosted by one of the top thought leader’s in the interior design world! So naturally I was thrilled to be a guest on my friend LuAnn Nigara’s “A Well Designed Business” podcast recently.
“If you aren’t familiar with this podcast, it’s actually the No. 1 rated interior design business podcast on iTunes, and LuAnn herself is a celebrated media personality, keynote speaker, and seasoned entrepreneur in the interiors world. It was so energizing to spend time digging deep with her on a topic on passionate about: Brand values!”
My episode is called “Kathy Kuo: The Power Behind Establishing Core Values in Your Interior Design Business” and it’s all about unpacking core values and discussing how to embody them in your business and your processes. You can listen HERE or wherever you get your podcasts.
Kathy’s May Favorite: #3: Sacred Spaces by Carley Page Summers
Okay, so if you don’t already know Carley Page Summers, prepare yourself to become obsessed! Carley is an interior designer and the founder of Carley Summers Design—a full service interior design studio based on the belief that home has the potential to inspire healing, safety, hospitality, and growth—and she’s also the author of Sacred Spaces, a collection of interior design photography, featuring home interiors and profiles of the people who have transformed these spaces into sanctuaries.
I recently had the pleasure of co-hosting a webinar with Carley and not only is she so warm and friendly, and so talented and hard-working, but she’s also beautifully open about sharing her story of battling addiction and homelessness before reaching the point she’s at today as a thriving designer, savvy business owner, and loving mother.
“Getting to know her a peer in the industry and as a friend has been a joy, and I promise that her gorgeous book will bring a tear to your eye!”
Kathy’s May Favorite: #4: Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
I’ll keep my message here short and sweet: Summer is right around the corner and you need to be ready with high-quality sunscreen! I have long been a fan of everything Glossier does—I’m admirer of their business strategy as well as a user of their products—and I love their Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen.
“This easy-breezy sunscreen is so lightweight and feels like nothing on your skin—it’s a water-gel with SPF 35 that actually applies like a serum. Te best part? Absolutely no greasy residue or white cast.”
I like to get the double set so I can keep one at home and one in my bag, especially during the hot summer days we get here on the East coast.
Kathy’s May Favorite: #5: The Blinkist App
So I love reading and I love listening to podcasts (see above!) but as a busy mama and business owner, I must admit that I need the study-guide version sometimes. Enter Blinkist!
I have been using Blinkist for a couple years now and I love it for all the times I am craving some new information or a key lesson from a book or podcast but honestly only have a few minutes for listening. This app summarizes “key ideas from nonfiction bestsellers in minutes” and offers “key insights from podcasts” directly from the creators, and also makes curated reading and listening lists for you.
“I’m obsessed, and honestly, I often end up reading more full books and listening to more new podcasts becasue the Blinkist summary notes were so meaningful!”
