Happy June, cuties! Summer is here and I have been busy enjoying it and working on several really exciting KKH projects. I kicked this month off with a fantastic panel appearance with the Hearst Collective (read on to learn more), and the month has only gotten busier, sunnier, and more exciting!
As always, I truly look forward to this moment in the month when I get to open up and share the things I’m loving, feeling inspired by, and looking forward to. I hope you enjoy reading as much I do writing and sharing. Cheers to the best summer ever!
Kathy’s June Favorite #1: The Hearst Collective
Last week I had the great pleasure of being part of the Hearst Collective | Perspective: Home + Design event, organized by my friends at Hearst Magazines! This event was such a special meeting of the minds from so many wonderful facets of the worlds of home, design, fashion, technology, and editorial.
I was honored to speak on a panel called Commerce, Connectivity & The Rise of Conscious Consumerism—moderated by Jessica Teves of House Beautiful— alongside Chief Brand & Design Officer for California Closets Edward Leaman.
“Our lively conversation on where commerce trends and consumer attitudes in the home space are going truly energized and inspired me, and encouraged me to consider new perspectives.”
It was also such a pleasure to be in the company of the other amazing panelists and moderators from Hearst! There is so much to feel optimistic and excited about at the intersections of design, tech, fashion, interiors, commerce, and culture at this moment in time, and it was such a joy to share this special morning with so many professionals in design whom I admire and look to as industry leaders, including Athena Calderone and Nina Garcia (among many others)!
I had such a wonderful time and wanted to share a few of my favorites photos from the day, taken at the gorgeous Hearst Tower in Manhattan!

As you can see, I was in fantastic company at the Hearst Collective among so many thought leaders across design, home, and media

Kathy’s June Favorite #2: Las Vegas Market (Plus, A Giveaway Opportunity!)
It’s been a busy summer for KKH! Coming right up next for yours truly is an event I am just so excited to be a part of: Summer 2024 Las Vegas Market as part of the Las Vegas Market | ANDMORE (A) List!
“Not only have my team and I designed the chicest Hamptons Coastal Elegance vignette for Market, I’ll also be leading a talk on Monday, July 29, at 10am, called Trends That Sell: Best Selling Items for 2024 and Beyond, moderated by Cindy Hodnett of BridgeTower Media — I hope to see you there!”
What’s more: KKH is thrilled to also be partnering with Las Vegas Market to give away a FREE trip to Las Vegas inclusive of your flights and hotel stay! All you need to do is register for Market and you’ll be entered to win.
Kathy’s June Favorite #3: Pretty In The Pines
I don’t have to tell you twice how much I absolutely love working with content creators in the home and design space. Regular readers will remember that we worked with Pretty in the Pines creator Shelby in the fall of last year on a truly spectacular living room look. Well…we loved that project so much that we recently launched a curated collection inspired by it!
“There’s nothing chicer than a classic countryside aesthetic infused with the sophistication of the big city. Enter our friend Shelby, the creative force behind the blog Pretty in the Pines.”
Originally from North Carolina, Shelby is a lifestyle creator who has meticulously turned her NYC apartment to a charming and regal oasis of beautiful design. We worked with Shelby on completing the look of her living room with many of the pieces you’ll find in this new curated KKH collection. Happy shopping!

Kathy’s June Favorite #4: 8 Sleep
Anyone who knows me well knows that I love optimize my habits with the latest tech innovations. 8 Sleep is my latest obsession that is totally changing my sleep routine for the better. In short, it’s a cooling pod that you can add to your bed to set your bed to your optimal temperature.
“We all know that a good night’s sleep is so important for overall health…and also that getting your best rest can be tough in the hot summer months, even with the help of AC.”
As a business owner and founder in the home and design space, it’s always a thrill on many levels to try out the latest in home innovations. The 8 Sleep pod system is truly something I see as complementary to beautiful interior design and a vital piece of creating a home that feels safe, loving, and nurturing.
Kathy’s June Favorite #5: The War For Kindness by Jamil Zaki
Last but certainly not least: It wouldn’t be a monthly roundup of my favorite things without a book pick! If you’re in need of an antidote to the heaviness and sadness of the latest headlines, I highly recommend Jamil Zaki’s The War For Kindness as a way to renew your faith in empathy.
Jamil Zaki is a renowned professor from Stanford who specializes in research on empathy. In this book, he “shares cutting-edge research, including experiments from his own lab, showing that empathy is not a fixed trait…but rather a skill that can be strengthened through effort.”
“It’s a fascinating read on a psychological level, but it’s also heartening, as Zaki shares not just research and stats, but real stories of people who have fought for kindness and the power of empathy in the most extreme of circumstances.”
